Elizabeth Einig, LCSW
Hi! I’m Elizabeth, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Illinois #149.029927), she/her.
I’m a trauma-focused therapist who works with children (ages 7+), teens, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, PTSD, childhood trauma, binge eating disorder, and chronic illness. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that healing happens within a safe, trusting relationship. Using an attachment and somatic lens, I help clients heal early relational wounds, improve emotional regulation, and enhance self-trust and confidence.
What I love most about being a therapist is connecting with clients and being a part of their journey. I feel honored to be trusted with their vulnerability and I find so much reward in offering a space that allows for transformative healing. I hope to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered to move toward the life and relationships you want. I’m excited to work with you!
Background & Experience
I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2022 in clinical practice. I am independently licensed in the state of Illinois. I’ve been working as a therapist for 4 years, but have built a strong foundation as a therapist specialized in trauma treatment, especially for kids & teens and in EMDR therapy. Research shows that a strong therapeutic relationship can be more important than experience when it comes to achieving meaningful change. If you think we could be a good fit, feel free to reach out!
Prior to graduate school, I worked as a research assistant for youth suicide prevention research (Youth Depression and Suicide Prevention Lab) and as as a client services and intake assistant at a mental health clinic (Mary A Rackham Institute, University of Michigan).
As a therapist, I’ve worked in a variety of settings: a child welfare & juvenile justice clinic, offering court-ordered therapy for those affected by significant trauma (Family Assessment Clinic in Ann Arbor, MI), a youth-focused therapy and psychological testing practice (Marvelous Minds in Glen Ellyn, IL), and a group practice focused on trauma treatment (Calm Mind Counseling Center, Willowbrook & Forest Park, IL). Throughout my career so far, I’ve received specialized training in trauma therapy, which I’ve found to support deeper healing, regardless of challenges you may be facing.
Values, Perspective, and a Bit About Me
Many people like to know their therapist’s values. I will happily answer any questions about this. I am a strong believer in social justice- our experiences are influenced so much by larger systems of oppression, which often shapes how we navigate stressors and traumatic experiences. Not only do I prioritize Social Work values in my practice, I believe they’re important to live out every day. These core values include: service, social justice, the dignity and worth of the person, the importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence. More info is linked here.
In my free time, I enjoy spoiling my cat Pebbles, getting creative with watercolor and crochet, and grabbing an iced latte with friends. I will gladly show you pictures of my cat if you ask :)
